Radiesse is a long-lasting wrinkle filler with a wide variety of treatment applications. Composed of microscopic calcium spheres in a water-based gel, Radiesse creates a scaffolding effect when injected into contour depressions of the skin.
The unique composition of Radiesse is also safe and biocompatible, so you don’t need to worry about an allergy test.
Radiesse is very versatile for restoring the lost volume in your skin or even augmenting the areas that are naturally depressed. Common treatments at our New York office include the following:
- Correcting nasal labial folds
- Correcting marionette lines
- Reducing the appearance of scars
- Contouring the nose
- Restoring volume to sunken cheeks
How Radiesse Treatment is Performed
Using a fine needle of a specific size, Dr. Pfeifer injects Radiesse into the subdermal plane of your skin, right near the areas of concern. Discomfort is often prevented or alleviated using an ice pack or nerve block. In many cases, the injection is followed by a brief massage of the treated area.
What to Expect After Radiesse Treatment
The results may last as long as 1 year, but that will depend on where the injection is administered. Patients can expect to return to their normal routine immediately. Possible side effects include bruising, swelling, itching, and redness.
