Goal: "I lost 16 pounds over the last few years. But where are my boobs? I used to be a size bigger," said Vanessa before surgery. "I want a natural look - nice, perky, firm, with a little hang to it. Not that stripper look, where the boobs look high, round Tupperware under the skin. I don't want to look vulgar." The procedure: Vanessa showed her doctor, New York City plastic surgeon Tracy Pfeifer, pictures from Playboy from the 1970's as inspiration. In surgery, performed under general anesthesia, Pfeifer inserted 300cc saline implants under the muscle through short incisions in the breast.

The recovery: "Waking up in the recovery room, the pain was excruciating in my chest and the stretching of muscle. I felt like my chest would explode. They have me two morphine tablets and Robaxin, a muscle relaxant, which kicked in by the time I got home. A friend stayed with me. I slept propped up on pillows; it felt as if I had a large uniboob."
